Former Prime
Minister’s aide Eliud Owallo has been summoned to the Criminal Investigation
Department (CID) headquarters for allegedly plotting to destabilize the
government.
Owallo said he will honour the sermon by the CID on Tuesday
at 4pm and his lawyers will accompany him to hear the allegations the police
have on him.
He, however, said he fears the Jubilee government has
hatched a plot to silence those criticizing the government.
“My considered opinion is that this is yet another act of
political intimidation aimed at silencing divergent political views, which in
my considered opinion is unacceptable in the current political dispensation,”
said Owallo.
He was summoned by the Serious Crimes Unit which is a sub
section of the CID.
He claims that he was summoned after he made remarks calling
for the dissolution of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Owallo was the head of the Raila Odinga presidential
Secretariat in the March 4 General Election.
He is still coordinating the former PM’s activities
including organizing his local and international events.
It is unclear what the CID are investigating but sources say
he is expected to clear on some intelligence acquired by the police.
